Timeline Visualizer (https://timelinevisualizer.world) helps you turn a Google Maps Timeline export (Timeline.json) into a travel video in your browser. This policy explains what stays local and what limited network requests happen when you use the site.

1. Timeline.json and generated video

When you choose a Timeline.json file (or the sample journey), parsing, map preview frames, and MP4 creation run in your browser tab. We do not operate an upload API for your Timeline file, route coordinates, titles, frames, or finished videos. Closing or reloading the tab clears the active Timeline from memory.

2. Map tiles

After you consent in the create panel, the app requests map tiles for areas in the selected journey. The preferred source is CARTO basemaps (OpenStreetMap data). If CARTO is unreachable, the app may fall back to another public basemap host (for example Esri light gray). Tile requests include tile coordinates (zoom/x/y) and normal network metadata such as IP address. Map attribution is shown in the preview and burned into the finished video when tiles are used.

3. Hosting and analytics

The public site may be served through hosting/CDN providers. Standard request logs (IP, user agent, URL, timing) can be collected by those providers. If aggregate web analytics are enabled, they are not designed to include Timeline contents or route coordinates.
